Ohio High School Band Festival Offers Three World Premieres
SBO Newsletter
Printer-Friendly Format

Audiences were treated to three world premieres at a recent high school band honors festival in Port Clinton, Ohio. In Port Clinton High School's auditorium, composers Percy Hall, Michael G. Martin, and Barry E. Kopetz were all on hand to lend conducting talents as bands performed a new composition from each of them.

Students from the 20 participating schools not only had the experience of trying out wet ink material, they also got first-hand looks at the creative process as composers made on-the-spot changes to the music during rehearsals.
