Chicago's Hull House, a Home to Young Benny Goodman, Closes
It was announced last month that Chicago's home to disadvantaged youth, Hull House, was closed after bankruptcy, ending a run of 122 years. Benny Goodman was noted to have joined the Hull House band when he was 12 years old on a borrowed clarinet, quickly establishing a reputation as a professional musician and capable leader.
